Chat on the Mat: Pelvic Floor 101

It is not just about kegels. It is about how your whole core works together.

Hosted by Formation PT & Performance | Carytown, Richmond, VA

Kegels get a lot of attention, but your pelvic floor doesn't work alone. It's part of a system, your diaphragm, deep core, and pelvic floor all working together every time you breathe, brace, lift, or move.

When that coordination is off, you can do all the right exercises and still feel unstable, or like your core just isn't firing correctly no matter what you do.

We see this often in our physical therapy sessions here in Richmond; in active women, new moms, and anyone noticing changes in perimenopause or menopause.

Doc Sydney is leading a hands-on workshop (yes, on a mat) on how your breath, core, and pelvic floor actually work together, not in isolation. You'll practice a few movements together so you can feel what your body should be doing, not just hear about it.
